What does it mean to be a Senior Front-end Developer?
In the words of a Fi's Senior Interactive Developer:
You are responsible for defining and implementing graphical user interfaces. Our projects range from small promotional sites and game interfaces, to full web portals and large web-based software applications, so you have to be able to deliver excellent quality animations and motions as well as understand the underlying technologies used. You have to be on top of your field and spearhead front-end implementation and also ensure that the look and feel of the final product is polished to the best quality level. You are the spider-in-the-net, sort of.

Required Skills:

• Expert-level knowledge of HMTL/CSS/Javascript and Flash
• Skilled in professional development tools such as Eclipse, FDT, Aptana, SVN, Photoshop
• HTML5 skills are merited
• IA/UX experience is merited
• Strong motion/animation skills using Flash, After Effects and/or other tools
• Wide-ranging portfolio of projects that display motion, animation and development skills
• Strong technical ability to assess the possibilities and obstacles early on in projects across front-end, back-end and mobile technologies
• Flexible and inventive in using different technologies and creative problem solving
• Web-savvy and thoroughly on top of the latest developments, events and standards within the web industry
• Understands interaction as a holistic field, including traditional web sites, rich internet applications, mobile applications, and gaming interfaces
• Ability to capture and define interaction via wireframes, specification documents, interactive prototypes or other methods as required by the project
• High-capacity producer and able to work on multiple projects if required
• Excellent at giving and receiving feedback throughout the project process to propel the project into best quality
• Ability to train and mentor other Front-end Developers

Professional Experience:

• 5+ years experience developing a multitude of projects in an interactive agency setting
• 2+ year of experience managing developers and being part of recruitment
• Proven track record of creating cutting-edge interactive projects
